Abstract: In this paper petrophysical properties of reservoir rocks of Eocene age of Balkassar Oilfield, Potwar Basin, Pakistan are evaluated. A suite of wireline logs containing spontaneous potential, neutron, sonic, gamma ray, density and resistivity logs of three wells from Balkassar Oilfield were interpreted carefully to estimate permeability, volume of shale, porosity, water saturation, bulk volume of water, hydrocarbon saturation, net and gross thickness, net/gross ratio and net pay thickness of reservoirs. Calculated petrophysical properties of Sakesar reservoir obtained were 51.14 mD permeability, 11.77% average porosity, 27.28% water saturation and 72.71% hydrocarbon saturation, whereas Chorgali reservoir gave 115.81 mD permeability, 18.13% average porosity, 39.66% water saturation and 60.34% hydrocarbon saturation. Statistical analysis shows that Chorgali Formation is a good reservoir in Balkassar oilfield as compared to Sakesar Formation.

Key words: Balkassar, Wireline logs, Porosity, Potwar Basin.
